Gas leak causes issues near West 150th and Lorain

RTA busses were directed away while authorities investigated the issue.

CLEVELAND — On Wednesday afternoon around 3 p.m., members with the Cleveland Fire Department, among other departments, were called to the corner of West 150th Street and Lorain Avenue for reports of a HazMat situation.

According to officials, the investigation began when reports were called in of a gasoline smell in the sewers. Officials later discovered an apparent leak from an underground storage tank at the Shell Gas Station in the area.

Clean-up crews responded to the scene and removed the gasoline from the tanks, as well as excavate them from underground.
