The bridge will be closed to the general public until 4 a.m. Friday, and Cleveland Division of Police have put up signs and markers to assist drivers with a detour over the Detroit-Superior Bridge.

Cleveland officials also say that the bridge will be closed to pedestrians during this time, as well.

Though city officials did not disclose the reason for the shutdown, 3News was able to confirm that the bridge is currently closed due to filming for an upcoming Netflix film.

Cleveland Film Commission representatives say that the film, White Noise, starring Star Wars actor Adam Driver, is the reason for the road closure.

Some may remember that the film closed roads in Oberlin and Wellington over the summer.

The film is an adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel, and Driver will play a professor at a small liberal arts college where a catastrophe unleashes a chemical cloud. He and his wife, played by Lady Bird director Greta Gerwig, face the danger together.

3News' Will Ujek reported earlier this year that the Netflix film is benefitting from $24 million in Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credits from the Ohio Film Office.
