Here's why the I-X Indoor Amusement Park isn't opening in 2022

'I know Cleveland loves that jingle, so if we could get that back on the air again we would love to.'

CLEVELAND — The iconic jingle has been silenced for another year as the I-X Indoor Amusement Park will not return for the 2022 season.

The new team behind operations at the recently reopened I-X Center confirmed the decision with 3News’ Dave Chudowsky during an interview in our "Game Changers" series.

“The one show that’s not returning for this calendar year is the I-X Indoor Amusement Park,” said Claire Anter, Director of Sales and Marketing for Spectra. “It’s been a fan-favorite for decades. It doesn’t mean that it won’t come back in the future. We just don’t have a home for it this year.”

That means there's hope the event could return at some point in the future.

“I know Cleveland loves that jingle, so if we could get that back on the air again we would love to,” Anter added.

New management at the I-X Center also previously revealed they plan to remove the location's iconic Ferris wheel.

"For 30 years, the building's 125-foot-tall Ferris Wheel has been a centerpiece during many events at the I-X Center," officials told 3News last month. "As we begin renovations this Spring, the Ferris Wheel will no longer remain within the footprint dedicated to our consumer events and tradeshows. It is our hope that this iconic treasure of the I-X Center will have a new home and continue to create memories for generations to come."

The first event held at the I-X Center since its closure in 2020 was the Christmas Connection. Returning this weekend at the I-X Center is the Cleveland Auto Show, which runs from Feb. 25 through March 6.
