Authorities said a woman is in custody after trying to escape a Cleveland corrections center Friday.
A group of inmates returned back to the City of Cleveland House of Corrections property around 10:55 a.m. after court appearances earlier in the day.
As the inmates were being moved towards a secured booking area, Crystal Bullins, 38, was able to escape.
"The preliminary information indicates that the corrections officers did not secure the inmate or the door to the sally port," Cleveland police officials said in a release.
After Bullins attempted to climb a fence, she then got into a van that was already running on the property.
She drove the van, which officials said contained weapons, through a fence.
Bullins was taken into custody.
She was uninjured.
