CLEVELAND — JACK Cleveland Casino will celebrate its 10-year anniversary this Saturday.
Since JACK opened their doors at Cleveland's iconic Public Square for the first time on May 14, 2012, the casino has attracted more than 21 million visitors and has turned into one of the main entertainment venues throughout the city of Cleveland.
The casino has not only been a source of entertainment for the public, it has also been a boon to Northeast Ohio’s economy. According to a release from JACK Entertainment, the casino has paid more than $700 million in gaming taxes that benefit the city of Cleveland and its schools. JACK has also donated more than $17 million to local organizations including University Hospitals, the American Cancer Society, Downtown Cleveland Alliance and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
“We knew from the start that a casino would bring a missing element and energy to Northeast Ohio, which is why we worked so hard to make it a reality,” said Matt Cullen, Chairman of the Board of JACK Entertainment. “The region has welcomed us warmly from day one, and we’re proud to have become such an integral part of the community.”
JACK Cleveland Casino plans on celebrating the anniversary in style this month. JACK will give away $1,000 every 10 minutes from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on all Saturdays in the month of May with a $10,000 winner chosen at 10 p.m.
The company also plans to recognize 244 team members who have been with the casino since the very beginning.
The casino has also launched its own mobile and online betting platform called betJACK. They plan to use the app to prepare for legalized sports betting in Ohio. Part of the app’s offerings include daily free tokens for users to make “risk-free” wagers.
