CLEVELAND — A 13-year-old boy has died after being shot in the head on Cleveland's west side Monday evening.
According to Cleveland police, the juvenile was immediately taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, but was later pronounced dead. He has since been identified as city resident Ja'Mari Jones.
The incident occurred around 6:40 p.m. in the West 25th and Franklin Avenue area of Cleveland, when officers say they responded to reports of shots fired. The division says the teen victim was in a car at the time of the shooting.

Just 40 minutes earlier, Cleveland police responded to another shooting in the same area, where a 65-year-old male was shot multiple times in the chest. Police say the man was taken to MetroHealth and died from his injuries. No word yet as to whether the two cases are related or are being investigated as such.
