The U.S. Marshals recovered Lidia Garrido who was originally reported missing on July 15, after disappearing from the 10600 block of Governor Ave. in Cleveland.

On Sunday, Garrido reached out to family via social media saying she was with a boyfriend, but did not disclose her location.

The USMS in Baton Rouge, as well as the Baton Rouge Police Department, was following up on an investigation Thursday, which led them to the12500 block of La Margie Ave in Baton Rouge. Police officials then recovered Lidia and turned her over to local family service authorities.

Earlier this week, the Cleveland Division of Police asked for public help with locating Garrido. Cleveland police believed that she was in the company of an "unidentified male."

“The reach and cooperation of the USMS and our partners shine bright today. The fact this recovery happened so far from home, highlights the importance of this mission. We hope this young girl is quickly returned home,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott.
