2 missing Cleveland girls found safe following alleged abduction, police say suspect 'still on the run'

Officials believe 31-year-old Julian Early drove off with his girlfriend's daughter before allegedly taking his own daughter from her home.

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police confirm two young girls have been found safe after allegedly being abducted by the same man in separate incidents Wednesday.

Authorities say the ordeal began when 31-year-old Julian Early got into an argument with his girlfriend at the Holiday Inn Express downtown. While "irate" and intoxicated, Early eventually drove away in his girlfriend's silver 2015 Audi Q7, with her 1-year-old daughter Ameila Basladynsky in the back seat.

Early then drove to his 2-year-old daughter Journey Early's home within the 3100 block in West 68th Street before officials say he broke in and took the second girl. Law enforcement sent out an alert regarding Journey's disappearance around 9 p.m. before adding more than an hour later that Ameila was also with the suspect.

A little after midnight Thursday, police verified that Ameila Basladynsky had been safely recovered, with no further information provided. However, Journey Early was still missing at this time, which triggered a brief Amber Alert at 1 a.m.

This alert ended within 20 minutes, as authorities said Journey's grandfather brought her into the Third District police station on Chester Avenue east of downtown. The toddler is currently in the custody of the Cleveland Division of Police.

Authorities say the suspect "is still on the run" as of 5:30 a.m. Thursday. He's described as 6'2" tall and weighs 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
