CLEVELAND — A fire started by a contractor caused thousands of dollars in damage to the exterior of a day care center on Cleveland's east side Thursday, a city fire official confirmed to 3News.
Fire crews responded to Aunt T's Daycare Center in the 600 block of East 125th Street after a neighbor noticed the fire and called 911.
According to Lt. Mike Norman of the Cleveland Division of Fire, a contractor was working with a torch when the outside portion of the building caught fire. There was no fire inside the building, Norman said.
No injuries were reported following the incident, according to Norman. The fire caused $5,000 worth of damage to the building.
