Suspects wanted after off-duty Cleveland police officer 'slashed in the head with a screwdriver' during weekend robbery

No arrests have been made, but Cleveland police say the two suspects are believed to be 16-20 years old.

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are searching for two suspects after an off-duty officer was slashed in the head with a screwdriver during an aggravated robbery over the weekend.

Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia, a spokesperson for the Cleveland Police Department, tells 3News it happened around 4 p.m. Sunday on West 123rd Street.

Sgt. Ciaccia says the suspects attempted to take his vehicle and a struggle ensued.

No arrests have been made, but Sgt. Ciaccia says the two male suspects are believed to be between 16-20 years old.

No additional details were immediately available.
