CLEVELAND — "Dec. 7, 1941. A date which will live in infamy."
As the country marks 82 years since the attack on Pearl Harbor on Thursday, the USS Cod in Cleveland paid tribute and honored the lives lost by giving a 21-gun salute with American Legion Post 572.
It came as local veterans also visited the USS Cod for a wreath-casting ceremony.
The USS Cod was one of more than 200 submarines and thousands of other warships built in response to the Pearl Harbor attack, according to USS Cod Submarine Memorial President Paul Farace.
