CLEVELAND — A woman was found dead on Cleveland's east side following a fatal shooting in the early hours of Thursday morning.
3News' Carmen Blackwell was on the scene, where there was a heavy police presence that began at 3:30 a.m. after a dead body was found in a yard within the 18000 block of Harlan Avenue. According to Blackwell, a number of family members were also at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Dimesha Wright. At the time of the shooting, Wright was holding a 7-month-old baby, who was transported to a local hospital as a precaution. The baby was unhurt and is expected to be OK.
A 21-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene, with charges pending. Another 22-year-old woman was also injured, but was not hit by gunfire.
Detectives are currently investigating.
