CLEVELAND — Cleveland police say the situation started around 5 a.m. Wednesday when a man called 911 to report that he had shot his wife at a residence in the 1300 block of E. 90th Street.
Preliminary information shows that members of the SWAT unit responded to the scene and made entry where a woman was found dead inside the home. The suspect was also found with a gunshot wound to the head and taken to University Hospital. EMS officials tell 3News the 30-year-old man was transported in critical condition. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital late Wednesday evening.
Police also say that an elderly man and two children exited the home uninjured when officers arrived at the scene. The two children were identified as the suspect's and the victim's and the elderly man was identified as the suspect's father.
"No one else was found to be inside of the home," police said in a press release.
The situation remains under investigation.
