Puerto Rican Parade of Greater Cleveland returns Sunday

The parade kicked off at the intersection of Scranton Road at Castle Avenue.

CLEVELAND — For the 53rd year, the Puerto Rican Parade of Greater Cleveland returned to Northeast Ohio.

The parade, which celebrates Puerto Rican arts and culture, took place on Sunday, Aug. 6, at 11 a.m. 

The parade kicked off at the intersection of Scranton Road at Castle Avenue. The parade then proceeded southbound on Scranton Road and made its way to Valentine Ave.

The purpose of the parade is to "bring together the city's residents and to educate the community about the rich Puerto Rican culture."

Event organizers say that pedestrians will be directed to proceed to MetroHealth Dr and east to Quad Park. Vehicular contingents will be directed to disperse east on Valentine Ave and west on MetroHealth Dr. towards W. 25th.
