CLEVELAND — Downtown Cleveland will light up this Saturday with the city's WinterLand Tree Lighting Festival in Public Square.
And in preparation for the event -- and all its expected visitors -- the city of Cleveland has announced several road closures, which will go into effect from 7 a.m.-11:59 p.m. on Saturday, including the following:
- Superior Ave between East and West Roadways (Bus Lanes)
- Ontario between St Clair and Prospect (except JACK parking)
- Superior Ave. between W. 6th and E. 3rd (except for Terminal Tower parking)
- Rockwell Ave. between E. 3rd and W. Roadway
- West, South, and East Roadway
- W. 2nd between Rockwell Ave. and St Clair Ave.
- Frankfort between W. Roadway between W. 3rd
- W. 3rd between Frankfort and St Clair except K&D parking
- Euclid between E. Roadway and E. 3rd
- Roads will reopen as early as possible; determined by load-out timing
As for the event itself, the tree lighting will take place at 6 p.m. It will also feature festivities including fireworks, food trucks and live performances, with a full schedule listed as follows:
- 3 p.m. – Food trucks, DJ, face painting, ice skating and holiday wreath toss
- 4 p.m. – SHOUT! Band
- 4:30 p.m. – Ice skating show followed by Skate with the Stars
- 5 p.m. – Pop Fusion Dance Party
- 5:30 p.m. – Cleveland All-City Musical
- 6 p.m. – Tree Lighting Ceremony
- Fireworks Spectacular immediately following Tree Lighting Ceremony
