CLEVELAND -- Long before Fox News began, founder Roger Ailes was working here in Cleveland at Channel 3.
Back in the 1960s, Ailes was a producer for The Mike Douglas Show, a variety talk program.
Channel 3 was known as KYW back then.
After his time in Cleveland, Ailes moved on to become a consultant for President Richard Nixon and President Ronald Reagan before creating Fox News in 1996.
Ailes, who was born in Warren, Ohio, resigned from Fox last summer amid a sexual harassment scandal.
His wife announced Thursday morning that Ailes had died at 77.
