RTA officer struck by car in Downtown Cleveland

A woman struck an RTA officer with her car after her daughter was questioned for possible fare evasion. 

An RTA Transit officer has been struck by a car on Wednesday afternoon.

The Greater Cleveland Rapit Transit Authority (GCRTA) confirmed to WKYC Channel 3 that two of its police officers were in the process of releasing a juvenile female to the custody of her mother.

The juvenile was being questioned at Tower City Station for possible fare evasion.

The mother was uncooperative and after picking up her daughter at West Prospect Avenue near West 3rd Street, she sped off and in the process, struck one of the officers.
