Salvation Army providing cooling centers in Cleveland as temperatures rise

The five cooling centers in Cleveland will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

CLEVELAND — Amid the warm temperatures across Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, the Salvation Army has announced that it will be opening its doors to provide cooling centers across the city over the next few weeks. 

The cooling centers will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those who come to seek some relief from the heat will be provided with a cold refreshment and snack.

"There’s no reason for anyone to be out in the heat if they have no place to go," says Major Thomas Applin of the Greater Cleveland Salvation Army told 3News' January Keaton. "Keeping cool is of the utmost importance."

The cooling centers can be found at the following Salvation Army locations in Cleveland:
