CLEVELAND — If you park in downtown Cleveland, you won't have to worry about carrying around change much longer.
At the end of this month, Clevelanders will be able to use their phones to pay for parking.
The service will be offered on the ParkMobile app, which is free to download on the Apple App store or Google Play. Or, if you don't have a smart phone, you can also call 1-877-727-5009 to set up an account and pay by phone.
In short, here's how it works:
- Download the ParkMobile app and set up an account.
- Enter the zone number listed on the stickers and signs located on the meter into the app.
- Select the amount of time you would like to park, your vehicle, and the payment method.
- Touch the “Start Parking” button to begin your parking session.
Then, you will see a countdown clock showing how much time is remaining in your parking session. Once you start a parking session, the information will be recorded in the parking system. That way, parking enforcement officers will be able to look up your zone number and license plate number to confirm you paid for parking.
