CLEVELAND — It's almost ready.
Crews have been out putting the finishing touches on transforming the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo into a winter wonderland called Wild Winter Lights, presented by NOPEC. You can see some of the highlights in the player above.
Visitors will experience the vibrant colors of more than one million lights and unique twists on holiday traditions at the all-new evening event at the Zoo.
"We feel like Wild Winter Lights will really fill in a family tradition here in Northeast Ohio," Chief Marketing Officer Kelly Manderfield told 3News. "Something for all ages to come out and enjoy the zoo. There's so much to do, it's really something for everyone."
Wild Winter Lights will feature a dozen diverse and interactive zones including Snow Safari, Glacier Glade and Santa’s North Pole Lodge. Each area features unique twists on holiday festivities – from a 16-foot-tall teddy bear and giant sugar cookies to the awe of the A-Roar-A Borealis, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo’s version of the Northern Lights.
Visitors will get a chance to participate in interactive games like snowball toss, enjoy a light show on Waterfowl Lake, take photographs with Santa and more.
Advanced ticket prices are $15.50 for Zoo members or $18.50 for non-members. Four-pack tickets are also available for $50. Advance ticket sales end at 2 p.m. the day of the event. There will be some "limited" same-day tickets available at the box office for $20.50 each or $60 for four. You can buy tickets HERE.
Wild Winter Lights takes place from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on weekends beginning Friday, Nov. 22 until Sunday, Jan. 5. The event will also be offered every Thursday starting Dec. 5 and select Monday dates during the holidays. You can see the full schedule HERE.
