VeloSano 2022: Over 2,000 bikers raise money for cancer research in Cleveland

100% of the money VeloSano raises is used to benefit cancer research at the Cleveland Clinic.

CLEVELAND — As the race for a cure continues, over 2,000 bikers filled the city of Cleveland on Sept. 10 for the VeloSano bike ride.

The annual biking fundraiser has generated more than $30 million since it first began in 2014. Organizers say the money has been used to advance more than 200 cancer research projects.

Many of 3News' own supported the cause taking their bikes to the streets of Cleveland to pedal for a cure.

“VeloSano is unique in that 100% of the dollars raised supports Cleveland Clinic's cancer research,” VeloSano officials note on their site. “Every mile that our participants ride, and every dollar that our donors give, is a reminder to Cleveland Clinic of their obligation to pursue research that will make a difference in patients’ lives.”
