CLEVELAND — The winter months aren’t easy for many in Northeast Ohio, but those who are currently experiencing homelessness feel the impact the worst. The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System wants to remind veterans about their access to health care and other services that can assist them in securing permanent housing.

Any homeless veteran who needs non-emergency health care is able to walk in for service at 7000 Euclid Avenue in suite 202 between 9 a.m. and noon from Monday through Friday. Veterans are also able to schedule appointments at that same location by calling 216-391-0264, extension 48601.

This location is home to the Homeless Patient Aligned Care Team, a multidisciplinary team that is designed around the needs of homeless veterans. The team features a nurse practitioner, a social worker, a physician and a registered nurse. Individualized and comprehensive care is provided to homeless veterans addressing medical, mental health, housing and financial needs.

“January and February are the coldest months in northeast Ohio. For people living in cars or on the streets, this increases their chances of cold-weather injuries,” said Arianna Foye, NP. “Homelessness is not a barrier to receive care at VA. We want veterans to know this is a safe space to get the care they need.”
