CLEVELAND — Something incredibly rare has begun at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
A corpse flower in the zoo's RainForest has started the process of blooming for the fourth time in 25 years.
You can watch a live stream of the zoo's corpse flower as we see it bloom HERE:
The public will get their first look at the bloom of the corpse flower inside The RainForest on Wednesday morning starting at 10 a.m.
"The corpse flower, which can grow up to 10 feet tall, is one of the largest flowering plants in the world and its bloom usually lasts only 24 hours," zoo officials posted on Facebook last week.
But why is the giant flowering titan arum plant known as the corpse flower?
"When it blooms, it STINKS for about 24 hours!" zoo officials said.
