COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus-based non-profit group is giving back in a big way this holiday season.
Wagons Ho Ho Ho, a charity founded on delivering Christmas hope to families in need during the holidays, is assembling 1,500 wagons and will fill them each with a Christmas dinner. Each wagon will then be donated to a family in need throughout more than 20 central Ohio counties.
The charity also works with more than a dozen churches, charities and food banks throughout central Ohio with connections to the city’s children in need.
This marks the 16th annual Wagon Build Day, which brings together hundreds of community volunteers to assemble each wagon and pack them with food for a Christmas dinner.
Each wagon with a dinner costs $150 to put together, and 100% of every donation helps the non-profit buy and fill more wagons.
Additionally, more than 5,000 pounds of non-perishable food is donated to area food banks as a result of surplus generosity on behalf of the charity’s volunteers.
