Cuyahoga County Exec. Armond Budish names Lt. Joseph Greiner as new interim County Sheriff

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio — Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish has named a new interim sheriff. 

According to a press release sent on Tuesday morning, Lt. Joseph Greiner has been appointed to the position until Budish names a permanent replacement.

Lt. Greiner began with the county as a Deputy in 2012 and was promoted to Sergeant in 2017. The interim Sheriff was appointed to his current position of Lieutenant in 2020. 

Before serving with Cuyahoga County, Greiner came from the Lorain County Sheriff's Department and worked as a police officer in Medina. The interim Cuyahoga County Sheriff also served as an EMT and worked in the U.S. Coast Guard.
