SOLON, Ohio — A 13-year-old girl was arrested early last Saturday after she apparently stole her father's car and crashed it at an intersection.
According to Solon police, the girl originally said she had gotten into an argument with her mother at their Moreland Hills home before calling for an Uber. However, she later admitted she took the vehicle without her dad's permission and crashed it about 5 1/2 miles away.
The one-car incident occurred at SOM Center Road and Cromwell Drive around 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 21. The girl also allegedly had a seven-inch knife, which she gave to the responding officers.
The suspect has since been returned to the custody of her parents. The Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court is investigating for possible charges.
