FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio — An investigation is underway, and a community on edge, after two people were found dead in the Cleveland Metroparks Rocky River Reservation in Fairview Park late Tuesday afternoon.
The bodies were discovered around 5:22 p.m. north of the Lorain Road bridge. The victims have been identified as 33-year-old Katherine Brown and 40-year-old Carnel E. Sledge.
The connection between the two victims is not being released at this time. In the meantime, the community is left wondering what happened down near the river.
At a press conference Thursday morning, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office said both victims were shot in the head.
"Both of the manners of death were homicide," Dr. Thomas Gilson of the medical examiner's office said. "Our preliminary investigation reveals nothing other than this looks like an isolated incident."
Ranger Chief Katherine Dolan said the safety of the parks is not in question.
