SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio — 4 juveniles are in a Cleveland hospital after a stolen car they occupied and drove flipped on its side after a police chase.
According to Shaker Heights police, the Flock camera surveillance system pinged a Toyota Camry with Arizona plates that had been reported as stolen from the city of Cleveland at approximately 3:06 p.m. on Saturday.
Shaker Heights officers attempted to stop the vehicle as it was traveling from Cleveland Heights to Shaker, but the Camry rapidly accelerated away from responding officers.
The vehicle then lost control on South Woodland Road near Parkland Road according to nearby witnesses. The Camry was found by officers flipped onto its side on a lawn at a residence in the 2000 block of South Park Boulevard.
EMS was called to the scene to treat the four juvenile occupants of the stolen car. They were all transported to Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. No updates were provided on the health status of the suspects.
Charges have yet to be announced.
