9-year-old girl dies after Euclid hit-skip, benefit fundraiser planned

A child is dead after a fatal hit-skip in Euclid, weeks ago.

9-year-old De'Zyer Mays was struck by a vehicle in the 800 block of Babbit Road on November 9.

On Tuesday, Mays died as a result of her injuries.

Lacynthia A. Tidmore, of Cleveland, was charged with felony hit-skip, last week in connection to the crime.

According to reports, Tidmore struck the child on Babbit Road and then drove off without stopping.

Police later found her car at a nearby gas station and she eventually turned herself in.

The 23-year-old pleaded not guilty in Euclid Municipal Court and was issued a $5,000 bond.

Mays' family has organized a spaghetti benefit dinner Saturday, November 25 at 23001 Euclid Avenue from 2 to 6 p.m.

The benefit will help with medical and funeral costs.

Funeral arrangements will be help at Cummings and Davis Funeral Home in East Cleveland.
