Akron radio personality Dan 'Foz' Fazio killed in wrong-way crash in Warrensville Heights

Dan "Foz" Fazio was a weekend personality at Akron's Your Country! 94.9 FM WQMX. The other driver involved in the crash was also killed.

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — A beloved Akron radio personality was one of two people killed in a car crash over the weekend on I-271 in Warrensville Heights.

Dan "Foz" Fazio was a weekend personality at Akron's Your Country! 94.9 FM WQMX. 

According to the city of Warrensville Heights, the crash happened at approximately 2:45 a.m. on I-271 south near the Emery Road exit. Investigators say a car driven by 31-year-old Luis Raul Caban Medina was going northbound in a southbound lane before colliding with a car driven by Fazio.

Both Fazio and Medina were pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

WQMX announced the passing of Fazio in a Facebook post on Sunday: "It is with overwhelming sadness, shock and heavy hearts that we inform you all, one of our weekend crew members- Dan “Foz” Fazio passed away suddenly early yesterday morning. We ask that you keep his wife Jessica and his family and friends in your hearts and prayers. Foz loved radio and music so much and had the biggest personality that made everyone smile! We will miss you, Foz-"
