BEACHWOOD, Ohio — Archie's will soon be back in business.
The beloved bakery and its owner, Archie Garner, have spent months searching for a new location following lease issues with the landlord at its Lakeshore location.
On Tuesday, the bakery announced its new home on its Facebook page. Though an opening date has not been determined, the new Archie's Bakery will be at 3365 Richmond Road across from Moxie.
Garner launched a GoFundMe last year to raise funds for new equipment and a new location. The page has raised nearly $19,000 in four months.
Garner worked for Hough Bakery for 25 years and acquired the recipe for the bakery's beloved cakes, which he continued baking when he opened Archie's Lakeshore Bakery in 1994.
Hough Bakery closed its doors after filing for bankruptcy in 1992, but Garner continues to serve its iconic cakes to Clevelanders.
