BAY VILLAGE, Ohio — We’re following breaking news in Bay Village where police say one person has died in an overnight shooting on Bassett Road.
It was shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday when Bay Village police say they received a 911 call transfer from a female who reportedly told authorities she had shot her roommate.
Police and fire responded to the scene where the male roommate was pronounced dead at 2:07 a.m.
"The female caller was checked out by paramedics and taken into custody," according to Bay Village police. "The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was contacted to process the scene."
Police did not release the names of those involved.
As a result of the investigation, police also closed Bassett Road between Lake Road and Winsor Drive.
