Cleveland Heights police reopen traffic on Staunton Road after law enforcement activity forced residents to stay in homes

Authorities say no one was hurt but have given few details.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — 3News has learned new details after Cleveland Heights police closed Staunton Road and forced residents to stay in their homes Saturday evening amid a drug investigation.

A representative from the department told 3News that the situation happened near the 2000 block of Staunton Road. 

On Monday morning, a spokesperson with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration told 3News that the suspects fled on foot before a perimeter could be established. 

No arrests were made, and a small amount of drugs and cash were recovered. 

Officials say once the suspects are caught, they will be indicted.  At this time, the investigation remains ongoing. 

According to the city, no one was hurt.

As of now, law enforcement agencies continue to conduct police operations on Staunton between Cummings and Revere....
