CLEVELAND — Sentencing for Kevin Del Valle-Salaman, the Lorain man convicted in connection to last summer's mass shooting in the Cleveland Warehouse District, has been postponed until July 23.
In January, Del Valle-Salaman pleaded guilty to charges of tampering with evidence and obstruction of justice. Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Jennifer O'Donnell will sentence Del Valle-Salaman.
After the July 9 shooting that took place on West 6th Street at around 2:30 a.m., Del Valle-Salaman was indicted on the following charges:
- Nine counts of Attempted Murder
- 18 counts of Felonious Assault
- One count of Obstructing Justice
Law enforcement officials say that Jaylon Jennings and Del Valle-Salaman left the Rumor Bar and Lounge on West 6th Street at around 2 a.m. on July 9, 2023. They walked to Del Valle-Salaman's car that was parked nearby, where Jennings then grabbed a gun and walked back to West 6th. Jennings apparently waited for some of the victims to exit Rumor Bar and Lounge and then fired multiple shots in their direction at approximately 2:24 a.m.
Meanwhile, the trial for Jaylon Jennings was supposed to start earlier this week but has since been postponed to July 17. Jennings, who is currently being held on a $9 million bond, was indicted on the following charges:
- Nine Counts of Attempted Murder
- 18 Counts of Felonious Assault
- Two counts of Having a Weapon Under Disability
- One count of Grand Theft
- One count of Receiving Stolen Property
