Shaker Heights police: 2 women taken to hospital after crash

The driver lost control of her vehicle on Lee Road and veered into a tree.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio — Two women were taken to the hospital on Thursday following a crash in Shaker Heights.

Shaker Heights police officials told 3News that the vehicle was driving northbound on Lee Road near Chagrin Boulevard when the driver lost control of the vehicle, veering into a tree and crashing. 

Both the driver, a 22-year-old Cleveland woman, who was ejected from the vehicle, and the passenger, a 27-year-old Cleveland woman, were taken to local hospitals. 

Earlier on Thursday, Shaker Heights Police had shared on Twitter that Lee Road was closed in both directions between Lomond Boulevard and Chagrin Boulevard due to a traffic accident. 

At this time, no other details have been released. 3News will continue to update this story as we learn more.
