CLEVELAND — The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections has announced its Vote-by-Mail procedure for those who didn't have the opportunity to cast their ballots in the March 17 Primary Election due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
With the Primary Election extended until April 28, the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections has set up four ways in which you can obtain a Vote-by-Mail ballot application.
- Go to the Board’s website, www.443VOTE.us to complete a Ballot Application form by entering your name and birthday. Print and complete the Ballot Application and mail it to the Board of Elections. This is the recommended method because it creates a personalized Ballot Application that includes a bar code. The bar code allows the Board to minimize the time it takes to process the Ballot Application and mail the voter a ballot.
- Go to the Board’s website, www.443VOTE.us enter your name and birthday and ask the Board to mail you a Ballot Application. When it arrives complete the Ballot Application and mail it to the Board of Elections.
- Call the Board at 216-443-VOTE (8683) and ask the Board to mail you a Vote-by-Mail Ballot Application
- Visit the Board’s Administration Building at 2925 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland. The Building is closed to the public but there is an area just inside the back door where people may complete and submit their Ballot Application.
“Our message to voters is that now is the time to complete and submit their ballot applications and not to wait until the last minute,” said Anthony Perlatti, Director of the Board of Elections. “We don’t want anyone to become discouraged because they were not able to vote at the polls on March 17, 2020. I hope they will spend a few minutes completing the ballot application process so we can mail them a ballot as soon as possible.”
The deadline to request ballots is Saturday, April 25 at noon. Ballots must be postmarked by Monday, April 27.
The Board will begin mailing ballots to voters in the coming days. No postage will be required when mailing voted ballots back.
