PEPPER PIKE, Ohio — Two people have died after an overnight crash involving a wrong-way driver on I-271 North in Pepper Pike.
Police say it was just after midnight Monday when officers responded to the scene where their investigation revealed that a 2017 Toyota Tundra “had been traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-271.”
Then, just north of Chagrin Boulevard, police say the Toyota collided with a 2024 GMC truck that was traveling northbound in the express lanes.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital, but police say that neither survived. Their names and ages have not been released.
The Ohio Department of Transportation released video of the crash via public records request. You can see the footage below.
