CLEVELAND — The manhunt for the inmate who escaped the Cuyahoga County Jail has ended.
Cuyahoga County officials confirm that 30-year-old Ferdinand Torres-Vargas is in custody after he escaped the jail on domestic violence charges "sometime Tuesday evening."
According to Cuyahoga County Acting Sheriff David Schilling, Torres-Vargas was arrested around noon on Thursday in Brooklyn after investigators received a tip. A $2,500 reward will be paid.
The jail was placed on emergency lockdown while Torres-Vargas was at large.
Court records show Torres-Vargas was due in court for arraignment Wednesday morning.
Back in 2015, Torres-Vargas was the focus of another escape, which happened when he was in the custody of corrections officers.
