Highland Heights police ask residents to check security cameras following car break-ins

The thefts happened between midnight and 4 a.m. on Sunday morning. Residents in several areas of the city are being asked to share their security camera footage.

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — Police in Highland Heights are asking for the public's help after a series of reported thefts from cars over the weekend.

According to a Facebook post from the Highland Heights Police Department, the thefts from vehicles happened between midnight and 4 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Residents who live on the following streets are being asked for assistance:

  • Strathaven Drive
  • Prestwick Lane
  • Turnberry Lane
  • Highland Road west of Bishop
  • Dewitt Drive
  • Clinton Lane
  • Esther Road
  • Roy Road

"If you have any security camera or Ring doorbell video footage from (Sunday) morning, August 25th, 2024, between midnight and 4:00 am, please consider sharing them with Sgt. Setlock at: tsetlock@highlandhts.com Your footage could provide crucial information to help identify the perpetrators and prevent further incidents," the department wrote on Facebook.

Police officials also want to remind the public to "please remember to secure your homes and vehicles overnight and remove or secure valuables left in vehicles from view."
