According to a criminal complaint obtained by 3News, police say that Castro was operating the 2018 Acura that struck a 2009 Mitsubishi that was occupied by three people.

The deadly accident happened on June 13 on I-71 near West 150th Street when the Acura was driving southbound in the northbound lanes, crashing head-on into another vehicle.

Cleveland EMS previously told 3News that three individuals were hurt and taken to the hospital. Castro was one of the injured in the crash, and Cleveland EMS took him to Fairview Hospital.

In addition, the crash resulted in the death of Lemaitre.

Castro was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide.

Cleveland police also noted in the complaint that "Castro exhibited a clue of impairment--a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. "

He was arraigned on June 15 and is being held on a $500,000 bond. Castro's next court appearance is scheduled for June 24 at 8:30 a.m.
