LAKEWOOD, Ohio — The Lakewood Police Department is investigating two separate violent incidents that happened during the early hours of Sunday at two different bars.
At this time, Lakewood Police say that there is no evidence suggesting these two shootings were related.
Below is a timeline of the shootings and violent incidents:
Corky's Place, 13302 Detroit Avenue at 12:50 a.m.
Lakewood Police responded to Corky's Place after reports of an individual being shot inside the bar.
Upon arriving, Lakewood Police found a man with a gunshot wound to his right thigh, and another individual that had been allegedly punched in the face by the same suspect. The suspect had already fled the scene by the time police officials arrived.
Both victims were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment. The man who was shot suffered minor injuries since the bullet struck his cell phone in his pocket first.
Lakewood Police are still investigating this incident.
East End Pub, 11922 Madison Avenue at 2:46 a.m.
Lakewood Police say they heard a gunshot fired as they were responding to a report of a fight at East End Pub early Sunday morning.
Upon arriving, Lakewood Police found two individuals injured, one who was struck by a vehicle and another with knife wounds. Both victims were taken to the MetroHealth Medical Center with apparent non-life-threatening injuries.
Upon investigation, police say they do not believe anyone was struck by the gunshot.
At this time, detectives are working to identify those involved as well as the motive behind the disturbance.
