Damaine Bringht, a 34-year-old Cleveland man who sexually assaulted three girls in Lakewood, has learned his fate.
Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O'Malley announced on Tuesday that Bringht was sentenced to 19 years in prison for the assaults.
In addition, he was sentenced to 11 years in prison for an unrelated sexual assault case. In total, Bringht will spend 30 years in prison.
“This man traumatized three young women,” said Prosecutor O’Malley. “The victims and the community of Lakewood should feel some peace knowing Mr. Bringht is behind bars for 30 years.”
Previously, on June 27, Bringht pleaded guilty to the following charges:
- One count of rape
- One count of gross sexual imposition
- One count of theft
- One count of tampering with evidence
- One count of burglary
CASE DETAILS
The assaults took place on Aug. 12, 2023, when three teenage girls went to a park in Lakewood. The victims noticed a man, later identified as Bringht, watching them in his vehicle.
Bringht then followed the teenage girls to a residence near Bunts Road and Merl Avenue.
"He then drove more than a quarter of a mile away from the residence and parked his vehicle. He walked to the residence and broke in through the back door and approached the victims. Bringht lifted up his shirt to expose a firearm, demanded their cell phones, and asked if there was a camera inside the residence. He then sexually assaulted two of the females. Afterward, Bringht fled the scene with two of the victims’ cell phones and an indoor security camera. He disposed of the cell phones on I-490," said the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office in a press release.
After the incident, Lakewood police responded to the scene. Two victims were taken to a nearby hospital, where a sexual assault kit was collected.
Bringht was identified by an outdoor security camera and was arrested on Aug. 14, 2023, two days after the incident.
