BAY VILLAGE, Ohio — Bay Village police confirm its crews recovered a body from the waters of Lake Erie late Monday afternoon.
Officials say they received a report of human remains located in "an isolated section" of the waterfront around 4:30 p.m. After arriving on scene, authorities discovered the body of "an unknown male" in the lake and quickly called the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office for recovery efforts.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the man as 62-year-old James Boehm.
Boehm was previously reported missing by the Rocky River Division of Police on Oct. 5.
Rocky River police previously told 3News that Boehm's clothing, keys and library card were discovered in a park on the shore of Lake Erie in Rocky River. They noted that Boehm loved to swim and frequented Cleveland Metroparks often.
An investigation remains ongoing, according to Bay Village police.
