MAPLE HEIGHTS -- The Huntington Bank branch at 6134 Dunham Road was robbed Tuesday evening, according to police.
Officers were called to the bank about 6:50 p.m. after 39-year-old Teddy R. Linville, of Bedford, Ohio, entered carrying an item that appeared to be an explosive device and stated he had a bomb, according to officials.
He was able to steal some money and flee in a black Chevrolet pickup truck. Responding officers located him driving in the area of Rockside Road and Lee Road South, and a felony traffic stop was initiated.
The driver threw something out of the passenger-side window before being taken into custody. The object appeared to be an explosive device, according to police.
The Southeast Area Law Enforcement Hazardous Device Unit was called to the scene to investigate the device and render it safe.
Linville is being held at the Maple Heights Jail pending charges.
The investigation is ongoing, but the scene has been declared safe, and all roads are now open. No one was injured in the incident.
