MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — Maple Heights police are investigating what has been labeled as a “suspicious death” involving a 26-year-old woman.
The situation started around 4:25 a.m. Sunday when the Maple Heights Fire Department responded to the reported smell of smoke at an apartment complex in the 16200 block of Maple Heights Boulevard.
While at the scene investigating, authorities say an unknown female in a gray, four-door vehicle dropped off an unresponsive woman “and then left the area quickly.”
Bedford Heights personnel, who also responded to the scene, attempted life-saving measures before the woman was taken to the hospital.
Police say the woman later died. Her name has not yet been released pending notification of family.
The cause of her death is currently under investigation.
Authorities are now asking for the public’s help regarding information on the female driver of the gray vehicle. Anybody with info connected to this case is asked to call the Maple Heights Detective Bureau at 216-587-9624.
