INDEPENDENCE, Ohio — For the second time in as many months, Melt Bar and Grilled has permanently closed one of their Northeast Ohio locations.
According to an automated message when calling Melt Bar and Grilled's Independence location, the restaurant has been "permanently closed," at which point the message directs you to contact the Lakewood location.
Earlier this year, Melt closed their Avon location due to "growing economic issues."
Owner Matt Fish was quoted at that time saying, “Navigating the restaurant industry in the post-pandemic world with growing economic issues is becoming more and more difficult. The world and the industry are rapidly changing around us. We realized in early 2023, a smaller restaurant group would be much better for us to manage regarding operations and guest experience, while setting ourselves up for future success.”
3News reached out to Fish for comment, but did not receive a response back.
The Independence eatery was opened in 2011 as the company's third restaurant.
Melt Bar and Grilled will now operate out of their remaining full-scale locations in Akron, Mentor, Columbus and original restaurant in Lakewood.
