SOLON, Ohio -- Officials were on hand for the grand opening of the Nestlé Research & Development Solon.
It demonstrates Nestlé's commitment to supporting global product innovation to meet the shifting food preferences of its consumers.
The facility is the culmination of a $50 million plus investment by Nestlé to focus on research and development of frozen and chilled foods.
It will help Nestlé play an increasingly important role in encouraging healthier lifestyles, through product innovation as well as renovations that reduce sodium or saturated fat, incorporate more vegetables, or offer gluten free and high-protein options to help transform the way the world enjoys frozen and chilled foods.
The grand opening included brief remarks by Nestlé executives and local government officials, a tour of the facilities, and a taste test to celebrate the foods and flavors of the Nestlé products enhanced at the Center.
