For the first time in 50 years, there'll be a new home on the block.
The village of Newburgh Heights and Knez Homes are set to break ground on a new residence for the first time since 1969. The historic moment took place at 10 a.m. Friday at 3788 Washington Park Blvd.
The new home is just the start of Newburgh Heights' plan to add up to 120 single family homes to the village over the next five plus years. The plan was enacted in hopes of attracting as many as 500 new residents to the area by 2030.
"This is another step in a long process we’ve engaged in to revitalize Newburgh Heights and make it a community where homebuyers seek to put down roots and raise their family,” said Mayor Trevor Elkins about the groundbreaking.
