NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio — A power outage impacted thousands of customers in North Royalton on Monday.
FirstEnergy tells 3News the outage was caused by a fallen tree that brought down power lines. As of 3 p.m., power had been restored to nearly all of the city's customers.
At one point, FirstEnergy reported more than 7,600 outages during mid-morning hours on Monday.
"We expect to have all customers back up and running by 2:30 p.m.," according to a statement from FirstEnergy's Lauren Siburkis.
“FirstEnergy is working to resolve the issue,” according to an 11:30 a.m. Facebook post from the city of North Royalton.
The phone lines at City Hall were also down. Residents are asked to report their outage to FirstEnergy by calling 1-888-LIGHTSS.
