VALLEY VIEW, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Transportation has confirmed that a plow was hit Saturday morning in Northeast Ohio.
According to Matt Bruning of ODOT, the crash happened at around 4 a.m. on I-480 at the Valley View Bridge.
The driver of the ODOT plow was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
ODOT also noted that there were two other plows hit on Friday, bringing the total to 19 plows being hit across the state in 2024.
To put that number into context, ODOT reported only 26 plows being hit in all of 2023.
"Our statement is simple: Move over any time you see flashing lights on the road no matter the color. We want to remind all motorists to put down distractions while driving and focus on the road," ODOT officials previously wrote to 3News in a statement.
